The summer of 2026 has confirmed the increasing wildfire risk in France<\/strong>.<\/a> A combination of high temperatures<\/strong>, drought-affected soils, highly flammable vegetation and strong winds is creating conditions in which fires can start suddenly, spread rapidly and become increasingly difficult for fire and rescue services<\/strong> to bring under control.<\/p>\n

Several regions have been severely affected. In Seine-et-Marne<\/strong>, the wildfires in the Fontainebleau Forest<\/strong> and the Trois-Pignons Massif<\/strong><\/a> burned more than 2,000 hectares and led to major evacuations.<\/p>\n

In the Dr\u00f4me department<\/strong>, a major wildfire affected the Diois Massif<\/strong><\/a>, particularly around Die<\/strong>, burning several thousand hectares and requiring the evacuation of villages, campsites and residential areas.<\/p>\n

The Pyr\u00e9n\u00e9es-Orientales department<\/strong> was also severely affected, especially around Tr\u00e9villach<\/strong>, Rod\u00e8s<\/strong>, Ille-sur-T\u00eat<\/strong> and the Aspres Massif<\/strong><\/a>. The Tr\u00e9villach wildfire mobilised several hundred firefighters and led to the evacuation of local communities.<\/p>\n

Other major wildfires mobilised fire and rescue services<\/strong> in Aude<\/strong>, H\u00e9rault<\/strong>, Bouches-du-Rh\u00f4ne<\/strong>, Gard<\/strong> and Corse-du-Sud<\/strong>. These events show that the wildfire risk<\/strong> is no longer limited to traditionally exposed Mediterranean areas. It also threatens agricultural land, industrial sites, residential areas and infrastructure located near dry vegetation.<\/p>\n

The situation extends far beyond France<\/strong>. Spain<\/strong> has experienced numerous destructive wildfires, particularly in Andalusia<\/strong> and the Girona region<\/strong>. Major fires have also affected Portugal<\/strong>, requiring the deployment of significant human, ground and aerial firefighting resources.<\/p>\n

Across the rest of the world<\/strong>, major wildfires continue to threaten communities, forests, agricultural operations, industrial sites and critical infrastructure. The growing number of fires highlights the need to strengthen fire prevention measures<\/strong> and ensure rapid access to firefighting water<\/strong>.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column css_animation=”fadeInDown”][vc_separator css=””][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column css_animation=”fadeInDown”][vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n

Fire fighting water tank for permanent water storage<\/strong><\/h2>\n

For local authorities<\/strong>, departmental fire and rescue services (SDIS)<\/strong><\/a>, agricultural operations, industrial sites and isolated buildings, rapid access to a sufficient volume of water can be critical during the first few minutes of a fire.<\/p>\n

Opentank and Bambi Bucket as close as possible to the firefighting operation<\/strong><\/h2>\n

During a forest fire<\/strong><\/a>, a permanent water reserve can be supplemented by mobile water storage solutions<\/strong> that can be transported quickly and deployed directly in the field.<\/p>\n

The Pronal Opentank<\/strong><\/a> is a self-supporting open-top flexible tank<\/strong> designed to provide a temporary water reserve for emergency response teams.<\/p>\n

Available in standard capacities ranging from 1 to 20 m\u00b3<\/strong>, it can be used as a buffer water tank<\/strong>, a filling point for firefighting vehicles or an intermediate storage solution during water supply operations.<\/p>\n

A Bambi Bucket<\/strong> is a flexible water container suspended beneath a helicopter. It enables water to be collected and then dropped directly onto a fire. When the natural water source is located far from the affected area, each flight rotation requires more time and fuel.<\/p>\n
