A gas holder developed for INRAE\u2019s OPAALE unit<\/strong><\/h2>\n

As part of its research on methanization, the OPAALE unit (Optimization of Processes in Agriculture, Agri-food and Environment<\/strong>)<\/a>, based in Rennes, turned to Pronal<\/strong><\/a> for the design of a flexible gas holder<\/a><\/strong> with a capacity of 2 m\u00b3.<\/p>\n

This equipment is intended for a small research-scale methanizer producing around 20 liters of biogas per hour<\/strong>. It ensures the safe storage of the biogas<\/strong> generated during scientific experiments before its controlled combustion<\/strong>, preventing its release into the atmosphere.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This achievement is part of ongoing work on the energy recovery of biomass<\/strong>, carried out in connection with the Closecycle Interreg North Sea project<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A custom and durable design<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Entirely manufactured in France<\/strong> at Pronal\u2019s workshops, the 2 m\u00b3 gas holder has been custom-designed<\/strong> to integrate seamlessly into the experimental installations of the OPAALE unit<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Its reinforced elastomer membrane<\/strong>, featuring a specific internal coating<\/strong>, ensures complete airtightness<\/strong>, high chemical resistance<\/strong>, and outstanding durability<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The equipment is fitted with a gas<\/strong> inlet and outlet<\/strong>, a safety valve<\/strong>, and a bottom drain<\/strong> for water removal, ensuring safe and stable operation over time.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Compact and lightweight, it can be installed both indoors and outdoors, <\/strong>on a research platform<\/strong> or inside a container, <\/strong>without the need for heavy infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Technical features of the Pronal gas holder<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Pronal gas holder is based on an independent external storage technology<\/strong>, suitable for various types of gases such as biogas, methane, carbon dioxide, hydrogen, or syngas.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Its flexible NPVC or NBR elastomer membrane ensures perfect impermeability and resistance to pressure and temperature variations.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The gas holder can be customized according to specific requirements. It can be equipped with gas inlet and outlet valves, overpressure safety valves, or condensate drains \u2014 all ensuring optimal operation.
In addition, its modular design allows easy integration into various environments: in laboratories, on pilot installations, or within demonstration units.<\/p>\n
